Can you remember the last party, event, or concert you went to? Can you remember any specifics from that event? Yeah just quickly scroll through your photos and videos to find it.

That’s the problem. Instead of immersing ourselves in the present moment of high energy, we put a screen in front of us to capture what is truly in front of us. We take pictures and videos and upload them, thinking others, ourselves included, will feel the spirit of the moment through a screen.

There is nothing wrong with taking pictures and videos to remember a moment, to capture the essence of a present experience. What IS wrong is that too many of us let the present moment slip away, thinking that we can capture the spirit and emotion of what is around us on a screen instead of experiencing it with our own eyes and heart.

Final Thoughts

A phone can only hold so many pictures and videos before you have to clear your data. But a heart, and only a heart, can hold unlimited experiences.
