Take Charge Of Your Focus
The great contemporary philosopher Simon Sinek once said something along the lines of “If you focus on the obstacles, all you will see is obstacles. If you focus on the path, all you will see is the path through the obstacles."
Look around you and identify something blue. Now look for something black. Now look for something green.
Notice how when I told you to look for something blue, all the blue things around you stood out. Then all the black things stood out. Then all the green things stood out.
Take a second and think about someone you love. Think of their eyes. Now their hair. Now their nose. Now their smile. Now their cheeks when they smile.
See, you have control over what you put your attention and focus on...even if it isn't in front of you.
Final Thoughts
When you deeply internalize the fact that obstacles are a normal part of the journey, you begin to see the path not despite the obstacles, but in spite of the obstacles.
